Alice, a brilliant Irish neurologist, discovers a cure for depression, only to be opposed by the giant pharmaceutical companies determined to crush her.
We also meet four human casualties of depression: Mark, secretly in love with his best friend Peter; Kirsti, a student, who can?t cope with her loneliness; Willem, a Romanian émigré, troubled by his mental demons and Fr. Larry, a sexually timid Catholic priest suffering from a Jekyll-and-Hyde dual personality psychosis.
Murder, espionage, and madness all ensue, in this dark and sinister thriller of lost souls and troubled minds.
