Privacy Statement

The Arc Cinema may collect and use your personal data. All such processing is in accordance with the provisions of The Data Protection Act, 1998, and the Data Controller is Melcorpo Commercial Properties Limited T/A The Arc Cinema.

If you purchase a ticket from The Arc Cinema or enter a competition run by The Arc Cinema, either in person at the cinema; online on www.ArcCinema.ie; through The Arc Cinema’s mobile apps; or through The Arc Cinema’s Social Media, we may hold and use your personal data. Opt-In clauses are included in all forms.

The Arc Cinema automatically sends a confirmation email which includes the required reference number to collect tickets. This communication is separate to any promotional activities which may result from opting-in to The Arc Cinema’s mailing lists.

Your personal data will be held and used in accordance with the provisions of Irish and EU law, and the provisions of the The Data Protection Act 1998.

Personal data recorded via an opt-in form may be used in order to deliver competition results and / or competition prizes to you via and electronic message including, e-mail; SMS message or messages through Social Media.

Personal data may be used to enhance the products and services offered by The Arc Cinema; and to better present information to you on our website, mobile apps or through social media.

Your personal data may be used by The Arc Cinema for marketing purposes; we may use your data to identify offers, products and services which we think may be of interest to you, and we may contact you about these offers, products and services. When purchasing tickets via The Arc Cinema website, there is an opt-in clause. If you choose to not opt-in, The Arc Cinema will not add your information to our marketing database.

We will not sell your data to third parties for any use unrelated to The Arc Cinema. We may transfer personal data to other group companies, or to any entity that may take over the ownership or operation of The Arc Cinema at any future date.

How we use your personal data:

• Provide you with Arc Cinema services, products, and experiences

• Fulfil our legal obligations to you and financial or other institutions

• Improve and develop our business, such as our website, products, services, and experiences

• Provide you with information that we think would be of interest to you, sometimes pertaining to new products, services, and experiences

• To enforce our rights under our terms and conditions or any other contracts with you

• To prevent fraud

• To protect the rights, property, and safety of The Arc Cinema employees and customers or other relevant persons

• To respond, when necessary, to valid law enforcement requests

• To comply with applicable laws

• To gather your opinions and input

• To manage any situation where processing or other transactions are disputed

• To handle and resolve complaints

The Arc Cinema may contract with external Data Processors to process your data on our behalf, but in any such circumstance, we will ensure that the Data Processor will process your data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Statement.

CCTV is in operation throughout The Arc Cinema for the safety and security of our guests. Any requests for access to CCTV footage should be emailed to info@ArcCinema.ie. Requests will be responded to within one month.

You may request to have your data removed from our database at any time. To do this, email Info@ArcCinema.ie with your request. We will reply to all data erasure requests within one month.

The Arc Mobile App

This policy is only valid if you obtained and installed the app via an official distribution channel. These are the Google Play Store for Android, the Apple App Store for iOS, the Microsoft Store for Windows Phone, and the Amazon App Store for Fire. If you installed the app for anywhere else, then it is not genuine. Please remove and install from an official vendor.

The app includes Google analytics which is turned on by default. This is simply used for statistical reasons to help improve our app, and understand what our users are interacting with. No identifying information about the user is sent to us, and is all controlled using the Google Analytics frameworks.

There is an easy to find option within the app which will Opt you out of the Analytics system, this option persists as long as the app is installed. Reinstallation will reset this. However can be opted out again.

Some limited personal data can be stored by the app at the choice of the user, such as email address and phone number. These can be cleared at ease from the settings screen. The app in no way stores, or persists sensitive information, such as card details. None of these details are sent to any other app, or system within the device itself, and cannot be access externally from any other app.

The app can request your GPS location when using the map feature to find directions to the cinema/site. This is controlled by the operating system and not our actual app. This data is not stored in anyway.
